DY Patil college of Engineering(DYPCoE), was started in 1984 in Pimpri and after that it is shifted to Akurdi complex in 2001, that is within the neck of the woods of Pimpri Chinchwad Industrial area, one of the largest Industrial belts in Asia. The college spreads over ten acres of land with seven Engineering Faculty. This Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) , New Delhi and is it is affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University.

The college has wonderful infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories. motivated, qualified, and dedicated faculty members are serving within the Institute. Students are inspired to actively participate in National and State level co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
